Santa Ynez Recycling and Transfer Station (SYVRTS)

Days and hours of operation:

Tuesday through Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

From CA-154:

  • Exit onto Foxen Canyon Road.
  • Drive 1.9 Miles.
  • Turn Left onto the entrance road.
  • Keep Right.
  • Proceed to the scale house of the SYVRTS.

    South Coast Recycling and Transfer Station (SCRTS)

    Days and hours of operation:

    Monday through Saturday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

    From US-101 North:

  • Exit at El Sueno Road.
  • Turn left at first stop sign.
  • Turn Right onto the first road (sometimes called "County Dump Road", you will see a sign that lists several County departments) that goes steeply up a hill and passes the Sheriff's Department facility on the left.
  • Pass a parking lot on the left for a group of buildings and trailers.
  • Turn left from a left turn lane and proceed to the scale house of the SCRTS.

    • From US-101 South:

  • Exit at Turnpike, exit number 103.
  • Turn Left at N. Turnpike Road (towards the mountains).
  • Turn Right at Calle Real (away from In and Out Burger).
  • Pass the Veterans Administration Hospital and look for the brown sign with "South Coast Recycling & Transfer Station" on it.
  • Turn Left onto a road that goes steeply up a hill (sometimes called "County Dump Road", you will see a sign that lists several County departments) and passes the Sheriff's office.
  • Pass a parking lot on the left for a group of buildings and trailers.
  • Turn Left from a left turn lane and proceed to the scale house of the SCRTS.

    North County Public Works Building
    (Laguna Sanitation Office and Santa Maria Valley Sustainable Garden)

    From US-101 North:

  • Exit at Clark Avenue toward Orcutt, Exit 164.
  • Turn left at E. Clark Avenue
  • Exit to the right onto CA-135 North (Broadway) .
  • Turn left onto West Foster Road.
  • Take the second left (South) and an immediate right onto a eucalyptus lined frontage road.
  • Take the first left into a driveway and the parking lots for the Planning & Development Building and the Public Works Building.
  • The Public Works Building is the furthest back.

    From US-101 South:

  • Exit at Betteravia Road towards Sisquoc.
  • Turn Right on E. Betteravia Road.
  • Turn Left onto CA-135 South (Broadway) and follow to Foster Road.
  • Turn Right at West Foster Road.
  • Take the Second Left (South) and an Immediate Right onto a eucalyptus lined frontage road.
  • Take the First Left into a driveway and the parking lots for the Planning & Development Building and the Public Works Building.
  • The Public Works Building is the furthest back.
