Recellular, Incorporated buys, sells and recycles used cell phones, pagers, printer cartridges, PDAs, and other hand held electronics. It also manages the recycling program for the Cellular Telecommunication and Internet Associations (CTIA), the wireless industry's national association. Bell Mobility, Sprints PCS, and Verizon Wireless all contract with Recellular to operate their nationwide in-store collection programs. Through the Donate-A-phone program developed by CTIA, Recellular pays nonprofit organizations for cell phones that have been collected and can be reused, while it recycles those cell phones deemed obsolete. The amount of payment for each cell phone will be dependent on the currency of the model, age, and condition of each cell phone. Recellular will accept any hand-carried (not vehicle installed) cell phone, as well as batteries and chargers, if available. Mobile-installed telephones, two way radios, walkie-talkies, and cordless phones for home use are not accepted. Working cell phones are cleared and reprogrammed. Tax receipt forms may be downloaded for use by the nonprofit organiztion. If an organization collects 100 or more cell phones, then Recelluar will pay for the shipping of the phones to one of its facilities. Further, Recellular handles the sorting, refurbishment, sales and disposal of all phones collected.
