About Us
Hi! We are the County of Santa Barbara. Nice to meet you.
Resource Recovery & Waste Management Division (RR&WMD) is the Public Works division devoted to waste issues in Santa Barbara County. The division is responsible for the cost-effective management of solid wastes and some utilities in the County.
The Division's comprehensive program includes collection, recycling and disposal of solid waste, as well as reducing illegal dumping. Basically, if trash or recycling are involved, we are the division that deals with it.
You can read a lot more about the RR&WMD on the County of Santa Barbara's website.
What about this LessIsMore.org site?
LessIsMore.org has been the Division's way to communicate with the public about recycling and hazardous waste programs and events since 1999. In 2011, LessIsMore.org 2.0 was released to include much of the information in the Division's Recycling Resource Guide. The guide includes extremely comprehensive listings of ways to reduce, reuse and recycle. If you want to check if a material or item is trash or recyclable, this site aims to tell you as fast as possible. The extensive listing of locations aims to help people in all areas of the County.
