The RBRC recycles cell phones and rechargeable batteries found in cordless electronic products such as: power tools, laptop computers, digital cameras, two-way radios, camcorders, cell and cordless phones, and remote contral toys. It recycles the following types of rechargeable batteries nickel cadmium, nickel metal hydride, nickel zinc, lithium ion, and small, sealed lead batteries, weighning up to two pounds. Alkaline, lithium, and non-rechargeable batteries are not accepted for recycling. Digital or analog cell phones with or without the battery or charger of any make or model, are accepted for recycling. RBRC does not accept household cordless phones, mobile installed or bag phones, two-way radios, walkie-talkies, or pagers for recycling. Digital or analog cell phones with or without the battery or charge, of any make or model, are accepted for recycling. These recycling programs have been established with retailers, businesses, communties, and public agencies. RBRC reclaims the reusable materials of nickel, iron, cadmium, lead, and cobalt from the batteries. The cell phones are recycled or refurbished and resold, when possible, with a portion of the proceeds going to select charities. The following retailers accept both rechargeable batteries and cell phones for recycling: Black and Decker, Circuit City, The Home Depot, Lowes. Office Depot, Radioshack, Sears, and Target.
